For most of my adult life I have steered clear of a lot of comedic acts simply because they were just too offensive. I tried a few Christian comedians and walked away, utterly bored. But, yesterday, I came across Jeff Dunham's DVD: Spark of Insanity - and almost broke a rib laughing so hard. I didn't expect much, figuring I would turn it off within five minutes after some sort of gratuitous explicative on some sexual escapade. Instead, I sat watching for an hour and twenty minutes of probably the funniest comedy I have ever seen.
Jeff is really a ventriloquist, and that i remember we'd somebody arrived at my grade college after i was a child and do a show for us. But Jeff - Oh My God - takes talking dolls to a whole new level. My favorite character, by far, is Achmed the Dead Terrorist. He is a bag of bones with big, bloated eyes, and talks about his feelings and failures as a Middle Eastern Terrorist who was actually made in China. There is also Walter (who is a crazy old guy), Peanut (who is a woozle?), the Jalapeno on a Stick, Bubba J, Sweet Daddy Dee (his manager - or Player In the Management Profession) and Melvin the Superhero Guy.
They are ALL funny and Jeff is, in my humble opinion, a comedic genius. Over the last few years he has gotten some criticism, and I can only assume that its entirely based from jealousy. I mean, I've sat through three of his DVD's now, laughing the entire time, and that is more than I can say for any other comedian that has come out the last few years. So, if you need to bust a stomach, and such as clean(er) humor, get hold of among Jeff Dunham's Digital video disks or even catch his behave on tv or perhaps in individual. You will not regret it.
